- Guatemala Student Support
- Over the past four years we have assisted several
students attending CAM
Guatemala Bible Seminary in Chimaltenango, Guatemala . One on them a
Cuban, another a "Chapin" (Guatemalan). We provided them with basic clothing
needs, Bible study software, and computers. We encouraged and rewarded
academic excellence by providing spending money based on their academic
accomplishments. These two students graduate with honors in October 2008. We
will be their to celebrate with them their excellent accomplishments.
This type of ministry demonstrates our commitment to preparing people for
ministry in their own culture. We believe this to be far superior to
foreigners doing this work. Our ability to continue this sort of ministry
depends solely on contributions.
We helped SETECA, the evangelical seminary in Guatemala City, Guatemala start
their Ph.D. program for the leaders of Bible Colleges and Seminaries in Latin
America. The first cohort of these new doctors graduate October 2008. We will
be there for that celebration. Our part was helping them with the internet
based delivery of this program.
Again this demonstrates our commitment to preparing nationals to do the work
of the ministry in their own countries and cultures.
