Structural Connectors

 

Table 1 Definition of terms
Term Can be a:
item noun, noun phrase, paragraph(s) describing something (can be persons, places or things)
action verb, verbal phrase, paragraph(s) describing an action
situation (state) verb, verbal phrase, paragraph(s) describing a state of being
temporal statement indicating time e.g. maybe be time of day or date, but more often a event. Some key words are when, before, after, as soon as, etc.
any either an action, item, situation
new a different topic
person(s) an individual(s) or group(s)
location absolute or relative place or position
match same type of term

Sometimes the connectors will be implied. "Then" is frequently replaced with a comma.

Connectors maybe compounded for example "so that on the contrary" in 2 Cor. 2:7. In which case the meanings must be compounded. Example 1 Tim. 2:1, "first of all, then" could be expressed as "the first thing that should happen as a based on the foregoing is."
